Indonesia, Lombok: A Cruiser Project after the Earthquake
Arriving on the north coast of Lombok in October 2018, two months after the earthquakes that devastated areas of the island, a cruiser reports on how another cruising couple helped a village.

In October 2018, Amy and husband David aboard S/V Starry Horizons arrived on the north side of Lombok after a rough two-night sail from the Komodo area. Needing to leave their boat in Medana Bay Marina for 10 days while they flew back home to the US, they found the two-hour drive to the Lombok Airport very sobering, noting the devastation wrought by the August 2018 earthquakes in the area.
On returning to Medana Bay, they caught up with their friends Kimi and Trevor from S/V Slow Flight, who had spent the entire time while Amy and David were gone working in the nearby village, constructing a temporary building for the preschool.
