Courtesy Flag Discounts
YachtFlags.com provides high quality courtesy flags that are manufactured in durable Knitted Polyester fabric. Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.

A modern marina offering perfect shelter at the south end of the ria. Easy access in any conditions. The projecting commercial harbour wall seems to prevent swell getting into the channel leading to the marina. Pontoons, toilets/showers OK. The WiFi is zero on the pontoons, and just about usable in the marina office. Helpful office staff speaking some English (and who actually reply on VHF channel 9). Launderette just across the street. Some very big supermarkets and general stores. Little to see in the town, but nice walks around the bay (where there are several lovely sandy beaches suitable for anchoring in settled weather). The mooring rates are 50% higher than in the rias of Galicia (I paid 32€ for my 10m boat, but -15% if you stay a whole week). They offer special rates for one month or longer (cheaper than Coruna I think, and much cheaper than Ribadeo 30nm east ), so a good place to leave your boat for a while. The town is very isolated, but like everywhere in NW Spain there are very inexpensive – but slow – bus/train services to everywhere (4h train ride to Compostella, buses to Ribadeo, Santander, Bilbao… ).
Anchored just off the beach, there’s a large supermarket that at high tide you can get your dingy alongside a double-sided ramp at the foot of the carpark. To go Into town at low tide or at night the marina will let you tie up on a set of steps at the foot of the hoist, not recommended to the less agile of folk, as at low tide its a slimy ladder with oysters attached.
PS – Can’t see how this place can be affected by swell – it’s 1 km up a river inside breakwaters. We noticed no swell at all during our stay.
What a marvellous place. We arrived to stay a night and left 8 days later (reluctantly). Very reasonably priced, helpful staff, an interesting town, cheap cafes and walks available into the hills if you are that way inclined. Great value for money.
08/2014: €42 / day for 14m. Free Wifi but no laundry. It is listed on the marina service guide, so it may come some time in the future.
