Pitcairn Island - Communications
There is no airport.
International Dialing Code for Pitcairn Island is +870.
There is a fully operational phone system, and you can call anywhere you like, via New Zealand, or receive phone calls (if someone will lend you their landline of course).
There is no mobile phone network.
24 hour internet access is available at one of the local Cafes by arrangement.
With the arrival of the internet and satellite communications, Pitcairn Island’s radio communications are now restricted to VHF and Ham radio enthusiasts, though the old radio station still exists at the top of the island and is well worth a look.
The Post Office stocks the world renown Pitcairn Stamps and First Day Covers. Limited numbers are produced and after two years all remaining stocks are destroyed.

VHF operates 24/7 on Pitcairn. All Vessels should use Channel 16 for local communication, in the first instance, once in range of Pitcairn Island.
