Puerto Galera (Mindoro) - Docking
Anchoring:
If you have not navigated the inner bays before, it is recommended to anchor outside until daylight.
Suitable overnight safe anchorages can be found west of Paniquian Island during the NE monsoon and in Varadero Bay during the SW monsoon.
Yachts are not allowed to anchor in Muelle Bay as this is a protected marine environment, except for the fixed moorings. Anchoring is permitted in Boquete Bay or Dalaruan Bay, but take great care when anchoring so as not to disturb the protected corals and the indigenous giant clams.
Moorings:
The Yacht Club maintains 20 visitors’ moorings very close to the western end of Muelle Bay, next to the town. the charge is 336 pesos per day (2013). Max. length 50ft/20 tons. This includes a free water taxi service and use of the yacht club facilities.
The Yacht Club moorings lie within Puerto Galera’s natural typhoon shelter and are regularly maintained in order to provide high levels of security.
