Farsund - Docking
This small town has good facilities for sailors although the mooring is no longer free. There are 40-60 guest moorings with water, electricity, fuel, WiFi, showers and launderette.
The harbour is split by the large peninsula formed by Engøy and Gåseholm, linked by causeways. The North Harbour is the more sheltered. There are guest berths on both sides of Gåseholm, and along the main road on West side.
Farsund has been rated the best guest harbour in Norway.
The two quays at a right angle to N side of Gåseholm are reserved for licensed fishing boat
In the summer a representative from the tourist office walks the docks twice a day and talks to visiting sailors and a harbour hostess wearing the local national costume, delivers free breakfast rolls to visiting boats.
The guest berths are close to the centre of the town, with shops, bank, post office, cafés and restaurants within easy reach.
The Tourist Information Office is near the main quay.
Some of the nearby islands have their own quays, toilets and bbq facilities.
