GENERAL INFO
The entry to the marina is straight forward by lining up on the range markers. There are no buoys and no lights. Line up on the range markers, then turn right towards the floating docks staying well clear of the sea wall on the starboard side.
CLEARANCE
ROTA IS AN INTERNATIONAL PORT. You must have a Zarpe from a previous port, OR if sailing from Guam YOU MUST have a port clearance document from Guam Customs.
The port authority does not monitor VHF.
Call +1 670 532 6060 at least 24 hours prior to arrival, then call +1 670 532 7327 on arrival.
There is a fee of $108 USD for late check-ins after 4 pm.
There is also a fee for departure clearance documentation from the Port Authority of $12.25 USD for departing CNMI.
DOCKING
There are 2 sets of floating docks. The first set with 2 45 foot finger piers are for commercial use only, and there is a usage fee of $108 USD per day. The second set of floating docks have two 35 foot finger piers and three 25 foot finger piers.
The public floating docks are maintained by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and are free to use on a first come first served basis. There is potable water available on the dock, but no power.
There is no anchoring inside the basin.
There is a pavilion at the marina with a BBQ grill, sink with running water, and 120VAC electrical outlets.
OTHER NOTES:
There is good reason this is called the “Friendly Island.” The people here go out of their way to welcome you. They are proud of their history and heritage, and one of the first questions asked is, “How do you Ike Rota?” Don’t be surprised if you are invited to daily BBQs, birthday parties, etc. during your stay. The only slight nuisance are the numerous small flies during the daytime.
