PORT IS CLOSED TO LEISURE SAILORS
Docked here Sept 2015 in a 7metre sailing boat, at mole indicated in 777 anchorages pilot book(2014 edition). Within 2 minutes Port Police arrived “Leisure boats are not permitted to enter the port” and I had to leave. There is also a prohibition of anchoring/navigation for about 500metres on the outside of the west breakwater (near the silos) and a prohibition on all “Boating” within 200m of beaches either side of the port but is so shallow you can anchor 500m off and still be in the lee of the breakwaters.
