Kleftico Anchorage.
On the SW coast two hours from Adhamas.
Really nice anchorage under high cliffs in 5/10 meters, explore the caves with the dinghy.
Not great in any wind with South in it, too much swell makes it uncomfortable. Fine in all North winds.
Get in real close to to the cliffs to throw out the anchor is best or take a long line to the rocks.
Its busy with tripper boats during the day but is quite after 19.00 usually.
Adhamas.
The new pontoon is up and running with all services and good bollards, use your own anchor.
The inner part of this pontoon is reserved for local boats and charter companies.
The old town quay is fine with services, a little noisy at night mind. Swell from the many ferries all day, but not too bad.
Charges are very reasonable.
Be advised, there is a guy who turns cruisers away (aggressively) telling them there is no room, he is holding these berths for charter catamarans.
He works for a charter company and has no authority to do so.
You have to be assertive with this guy and the charter skippers and ignore them, they seem to think they own the port.
Greece is under attack from the Charter companies and the cruiser is slowly but surly being pushed out of Greek ports.
Good anchorage off the beach in 5/7 meters, well sheltered and a short dinghy to shore.
The beach side tavernas are rip off, check prices first.
The bays on the southwestern side of Milos are sheltered by tall cliffs (where nesting birds provide a great show) and offer clean, clear water, good shelter provided winds aren’t southwesterly, solitude and uncrowded anchorages, in late summer at least.
The east pier at Adhamas has been extended with a long pontoon, providing space for many more than the 50 berths.
