French Guiana - Bio-Security
With the continual change in protocols due to the pandemic, we outline the last-known situation below for yacht arrivals. Skippers should follow the recommended links in “resources” to confirm the latest protocols. COVID-19: OPEN
Yachting Protocols:
March 2022
- As of March 14, 2022, there are now no Covid-19 related controls upon arrival in French Guiana.
- See Clearance for normal entry procedures.
- PCR tests in French Guiana cost approx. 50 Euros.
- Rapid Antigen tests cost approx. 30 Euros.

History:
- On April 2020, French Guiana officially closed its borders to all visiting yachts except those with an EU flag. Non-EU yachts were permitted to stop for supplies.
- The authorities are very reasonable and entry is now permitted on a case-by-case basis to all nationalities with testing on arrival.
- In late June 2021, authorities in St. Laurent relaxed the rules for arriving yachts that have been at sea for more than a week.
- March 2022 all entry restrictions were lifted.
