Bastia - Docking
In the old port in the center of Bastia, there are berths both on the quay and on buoys (mostly occupied by local craft). When berthing, beware of rocks within 2 or 3 m of the quay walls. Smaller boat berth on the pontoons; larger ones on the quay wall. Berth where directed.
In strong winds, a more sheltered and comfortable berth is in Port Toga which lies 1 mile to the north beyond the commercial port.
In calm weather, you can anchor just south of the walled city in 10 to 12m over a sand bottom, close to a small beach below the main road. From the anchorage, it is a short dinghy ride into the harbor where you can tie up.

Bastia Port is very exposed during west or NW squalls.
We went into Port Toga-Bastia this year, and we had phoned ahead for price and availability, We were tol our boat would cost 52Euro/night (42 ft)On arrival we again were told the same price but on departure, we should pay 83Euro/night!!! On top of that, it was impossible to get any sleep because six different places were competing with each other Who could play the loudest music EVERY NIGHT from 22:00 until 06:00
