Fuel:

The fuel dock is located on the south side of the bay, just next to the small marina. In order to  use the fuel dock, you must make an appointment at the Tool Shop (the red building behind the fuel dock). No appointment is needed if you intend to get fuel in jerry cans, just for berthing.

The normal operational hours for the fuel dock are Monday-Friday from 8AM-4PM and Saturday from 8AM-11: 30 PM.

Remember to call harbor control on VHF 16 and ask for permission to move your boat to the fuel dock. Do this just before you are ready to proceed to the fuel dock.

If you require 100 gallons or more of fuel, Clipper Oil American Samoa can assist – see details below.

The Port Administration will levy a small charge to vessels/yachts for moving within the harbor to the main dock or fuel dock. The actual costs will vary by vessel and are usually handled by the local agent in port.

Cooking Gas:

Tanks can be filled with butane at Origin Energy, in the village of Aua, just beyond the canneries. To get there, take the Aua bus (not to be confused with the Aoa bus). This no problem with transporting propane tanks on the bus.

They also have another depot in Nuuli, on the western side of the island.

US type tanks can also be exchanged in fuel stations and many stores.

MYD Samoa no longer exists. It is now operated by the government. The email”mydyach@yahoo.com” is not answered. Try shipyardservicesauthority@gmail.com. The phone number 684 644 4123 is still good. The web site is https://www.americansamoa.gov/shipyard for the new American Samoa Shipyard authority.
