Spain & Portugal – Marina Prices

MARINA PRICES 2020

February 2020 – from Neil Hird

Stayed Almerimar Feb 2020. Cheap berthing at €17 for first 3 nights then €11 thereafter, plus tax, for our 14m mono. Washroom facilities are aged, in need of renovation and unfortunately the environs somewhat run down too. However convenient for repairs and maintenance. Stuart recommended for metalwork and machining of all kinds – efficient, inventive and reasonably priced.

MARINA PRICES 2018

October 20, 2018 – from Q4YB

Stayed at Marina Deportiva De Alicante for 1 night on 20th Oct 2018. Large marina. Charged €76 for 14 x 4m motorboat – we found it the most expensive place we stayed. Almeria was only €21.95 including electricity for 1 night and Gibraltar was even cheaper at £15.75! (Winter rates). Diesel was available, about €1.40 per litre and the local chandlery shop charged me €52.00 for a cheap Rolson multimeter that would have cost about £6 back in the UK!

September 11, 2018 – from Andrew Cook:

Here is a quick rundown of prices we’ve found when sailing down the Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal late August and September 2018.  The boat is a Westerly Corsair 10.8M in length called Pemva.

A Coruna Marina: 28 Euro per night with discount after 3 nights.

Cangas Marina in Ria Vigo: 40 Euro for 2 nights with excellent WiFi.

San Adrian Marina in Ria Vigo: 12 Euro per night stayed 2 nights, basic facilities but very secure and quiet.

Baiona Marina in Ria Vigo: 34 euro for one night.

Back to San Adrian:  left boat there to return to UK for 22 nights, 145 Euro.

Viana do Castelo Marina: for 2 nights 48 Euro, very friendly and helpful staff.

Now in Douro Marina, Porto:  44 Euro per night less 15% for RYA membership. Wife needed medical assistance here and the staff could not have done more to assist including making all appointments and arranging transport etc.

August, Spain – from John Cass

La Linea: 15 Euros a night for a 10m yacht

Access into the marina was easy and safe, but the fuel and visitor quay can be quite a challenge to get onto due to being a wall, and long legs were definitely an advantage, but that is my only gripe. The marina staff were very helpful and spoke good English. There is a bar on the marina and a few restaurants nearby if you know where to look. Gibraltar border is only a 10-minute walk away with lots of places to eat and drink. The marina is very secure and has finger berths rather than stern-to mooring.

Alicante, Marina Deportiva De Alicante: 45 Euros a night for a 10m yacht. Stayed in July. The marina is very large and quite busy with commercial traffic and other yachts. The staff were very helpful and the facilities excellent. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants both within the marina complex itself and it is only a short walk to the town. There are several chandlers within the marina and a range of other maintenance and repair services are available. The wifi onboard was temperamental but good within the reception.

Palma de Mallorca, Real Club Nautico: 93 Euros a night for a 10m yacht

I only stayed here for 1 night in July, expensive, but the facilities were excellent and staying here gets you access to the other club facilities including a spa, restaurant, gym and swimming pool. Washing machines were the only disappointment as there were only 3 for a large marina, and you have to be up early to make sure you can get in!

July 12th, 2018 – from Barry Wheldon: I have just left my 14m yacht in La Linea marina, Spain, and by all means, it isn’t cheap. You are charged for water and electricity and for berthing a 14m yacht is €964 per month.

From Jan Harzem – February 2018

Spain, La Linea: Marina Alcaidesa just north of Gibraltar, very cheap at about 11 Euro a night for a 13m yacht plus electricity and other charges. Lots of spaces available. Carrefour and Lidl close to the marina. Diesel is Euro 1.28 per litre.

Spain/Morocco, Ceuta: Marina is ok but expensive at Euro 36 for a 13m yacht including electricity and water. Not a lot of places but secure. Diesel is Euro 0.98 a litre. Shopping, although supposedly duty-free, prices are no different than in Spain.

Spain/Morocco, Melilla: Marina charges are around 10 Euro a night for a 13m vessel, showers and toilet are excellent.

If you need stocking up on groceries, there are big supermarkets with excellent choice and prices. Fresh veg and fruit best bought just across the border in Morocco. Fuel is Euro 0.53 a litre.

MARINA PRICES 2017

Spain SW – Mazagon Puerto Deportivo

From comments posted by SV Joy – Portugal Marinas

May 2017 – Figueira da Foz Marina, 3 days: Price € 28,50 per night for a 10-12 m yacht, 50% extra for multihulls. From 3rd day a bit cheaper.

May 2017 – Nazare Clube Naval, 2 days: Price for a boat under 12 m € 17,30 per night in low season, € 27,70 in high season. 25% extra for a multi-hull.

From comments posted by SV Ponyo.

March 2017: Santa Ponsa, Mallorca – Balearics

There is quite a new marina near Santa Ponsa: Port Adriano, just “around the corner”. Since Santa Ponsa Club Nautico still wanted to charge us over €60 per night in February for our 13,80m monohull (Palma prices!!) and anchoring wasn’t an option (bad swell), we moved to Port Adriano, a Phillip Stark designed marina, too fancy for our taste but surprisingly cheap (€33.- per night), good facilities. Safe and sheltered except for strong easterlies: our boat got pushed to the quay (no fenders there) and we had to stay up all night to keep the boat from crashing into the quay.

March 2017: Palma de Mallorca – Balearics

We arrived after 2 days at sea from Sardinia and went inside La Longa marina. They charge per square meter, we ended up paying €67 for one night (13,80m monohull). Basic facilities but very central.

February 2017: Cartagena

€20 for 13,80 monohull. Nice staff, very good English. Mooring at the twin quay (RCRC) without security, Wi-Fi didn’t work.

February 2017: Fuengirola

€23 for a 13,80 monohull. Clean facilities. Fuengirola doesn’t offer much but transport to Málaga and the airport are super convenient (C1 train between €2,70 and €3,50 to airport/Málaga respectively).

February 2017: Santa Pola

We stayed in Club Nautico and paid €28 for 13,80 monohull, much cheaper than Alicante. Nice staff, clean facilities.

February 2017: Torrevieja

Went inside Marina Salinas as could not anchor here and paid €35.- for 13,80m. Torrevieja itself not worth visiting in our opinion.

MARINA PRICES HIGH SEASON 2015 – NW SPAIN (ATLANTIC) TO DENIA (MED)

Porto de Alcudia / “Alcudiamar”: € 79,69 Water & Electricity included, Free WIFI in all of Marina, very clean & friendly. Very good Facilities.

Porto de Soller / “Marina Tramuntana”: € 69,43 Water & Electricity included, WIFI w/Vodafone-Stick, Marina under construction, hence very basic (container) Facilities, Very friendly!

Porto Andraitx “Club Nautico”: € 79,38 Water & Electricity metered, WiFi w/Vodafone-Stick, very clean & “professional” a little less “friendly”. Good Facilities (but at the other end of the marina from transient berths).

Remark: On the “other side” of the harbour (E), right next to all the restaurants is a public pier. Water & Electricity available, prices only one third or half of the Club Nautico – BUT: Even so there is ample water even for our 3m of draft, there are large concrete blocks close to the jetty! Stay well off! (long stern lines -or- very long gangway -or- use your dinghy to shuttle). At the public pier you need to use your anchor (no mooring lines) but ground is well-holding mud.

Mainland Spain

Torrevieja “Marina Salinas” (Alicante Region): € 57,85 Water & Electricity included (metered on longer stay), WiFi w/Vodafone Stick, “Professional”, Facilities extremely “basic”, VERY long walk from marina to town and shops, Some nice bars & restaurants in Marina (Closed beginning of October)

Remark: Fuel Station has – contrary to nautical charts – plenty of water/depth even for our 3m draft.

Very interesting maritime museum featuring a 3 masted schooner and a submarine one can visit.

Cartagena “Club Nautico” (Murcia Region) € 36,03 Water & Electricity included, No WiFi (not even w/Vodafone Stick. (Due to it being very military port?), Staff “confused” and little “professional”. Facilities very basic. Floating Pontoons subject to constant swell in this industrial (ugly!) port. Town VERY nice, clean and picturesque!

Remark: Excellent fishing on the shoal between Cabo de Palos and Cartagena!

Puerto Deportivo Caleta de Velez – Malaga (November 2013): € 20,00/night

    Data Entry5 says:

Answered the phone right away, unlike many other marinas. No English is spoken by anyone in the office. 27 euros for 13-meter catamaran. 15 Euro deposit for key. Shore adaptor was like others on western and southern coasts of Portugal, we own one so didn’t need to rent. Very quiet and well-protected marina.
