Hawaii, Honolulu to Brisbane, Australia

Great Web site with great information, it’s much appreciated. I’m leaving Honolulu in mid-July and making a run for Brisbane.
The proposed route is Honolulu, Palmyra Island, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Brisbane.
I’d be interested in your opinion on this route and any suggestions you might have.
The route you chose is fine and you should have favourable winds most of the way from Hawaii to Kiribati and possibly into the South Pacific as well.
Another option would be to sail from Hawaii to Palmyra (you need a permit to stop there) and from there across the equator to Tahiti, unless the winds are SSE and you’ll be too close-hauled so it would then be easier to sail directly to the Northern Cooks, Tonga and that way to Fiji.
