More Improvements to the New Noonsite

Noonsite hamburger menu now allows full website navigation

The central feature of today’s update is the hamburger menu. You can see this by clicking on the 3 horizontal lines (or hamburger) at the top left of the screen.

The new hamburger menu has been expanded to allow full website navigation.

As you navigate through the website the new hamburger menu will reveal contextual options relevant to the page you are on as well as allowing you to quickly get to nearly any other page with as few clicks as possible.

Expanded site search

The site search has been expanded to include business listings, books, and blog posts as well as reports, news and cruising destinations.

New business search

There is a new business-focused search interface within the hamburger menu that will allow you to quickly get a list of businesses for the destination and business category of your choice.

Simply open the “Find a Business” option in the menu, select the cruising destination you are interested in and the business category. All businesses within our data set that match your selected criteria will be shown.

This new feature is still in beta, and your feedback is welcomed.

News and Reports easy to find

You can now quickly get to news or reports related to a destination of your choice by using the new “Find a Report” and “Find News” options. Select the country or port you are interested in and you will quickly be taken to any related reports or news.

And…..

This update also includes various usability enhancements from a “back to top of page” button to improved mobile compatibility.

So much clicking to find anything. Everything is buried under layers upon layers on counter intuition.

Thank you for your feedback fivecapes. With 50,000+ pages of content on Noonsite.com the navigation structure has to be and has always been – even on the old site – layered or hierarchical. The new navigation elements in the hamburger menu duplicate the hierarchical left column navigation of the old site, with the notable change that you no longer need to wait for the whole page to load to drill through the hierarchy.

Still nowhere near as good as the old website. Long long way to go to be as useful.

Thank you for your feedback. We are always striving to improve. Can you tell us specifically where you feel it is not as good or useful as the old website?

The new version is good. . It is normal that people who have used to surf with “old” versions find any other version inconvenient at beginning.
