Since our beta launch April 30th we have been busy improving Noonsite. Over the last 6 weeks we have added the following:
- Quick type field to quickly navigate to countries, visible at the top of the page
- Site Search, available by clicking on the search icon
- Added a tabbed UI on related report pages that allows filtering to see all reports or only security related reports.
- Added report and news archive pages. News can be seen here, and reports here.
- Added dates to reports
- Corrected issue where usernames were not showing correctly on comments
- Various mobile improvements and more to follow
- Improvements to the home page
- Improvements to user profiles including editing profiles, uploading profile photos and privacy settings. If you are logged in you can access these by clicking on the profile icon at the top right of the screen
- Indicators for ports of entry
- Added a members only discount page (Must be logged in to view)
- Various behind the scenes improvements for stability and speed
Our content and community team has been hard at work as well:
- Fixing broken links (still ongoing)
- Fixing publish dates for reports and news items (still ongoing)
- Migrating general page content (ongoing)
- Improving country/port organization
We have much more planned for the coming weeks.

Sue et al. Thank you! Your job is not easy and since the change over I can see daily progress on what I can only assume is a *very* long todo list. Making that initial, difficult, move to make the site current with modern standards was not an easy decision I am sure. Thank you for your efforts.
As a long time user of Noonsite, I was very happy with the previous layout. You now want to move to WordPress, but are stuck with its limitations and try workarounds. I’m sorry Noonsite, but you have made a huge step backwards. Cannot even login from Chrome, had to use Safari on a Mac. Please get someone else to build your website if you really feel the need to change the layout. If you indeed need to revamp the website and start from fresh, “good enough” is not good enough. I hope you will take the other comments into account and take action upon it.
Hi Patrick,
the web browser you are using shouldn’t cause an issue with login unless your browser auto-fill feature is auto-filling the password field with your old password.
We are taking on user feedback and making continuous changes to improve Noonsite based on that feedback.
Hi Ashley,
You are right about the auto-fill, but I retyped the pwd and same issue. I was using the username. I then tried with the email address, and it worked. Maybe the username field doesn’t accept spaces (Firstname Lastname)?…
Nice to see that you are working on getting things smoothed out 🙂
you guys have a long way to go…
Not one bit of useful information on your site…
Volvo mechanic in Barcelona
Sail repair in Tangiere…
You could not have ketp the old site alive for a bit?
Hi Charles, let me take you through the steps to find this info – it’s all still there on the site, just the navigation is slightly different:
1. Go to Spain via the “type a country” box top of the site (if you start typing in the country name it will come up).
2. Scroll down to main ports and click on Barcelona.
3. Hover over “Explore Barcelona” and a drop-down menu will appear.
4. Click on “repair facilities” – note – this is exactly the same trail as the old site, however instead of having all the options on the left-hand side of the site really tiny, they are now accessible via drop-down menus making it much much easier to use the site on smaller devices (tablets and phones).
5. Scroll down to Engine and Mechanical Repair.
6. Businesses are listed.
I appreciate that right now you have to enter each business to see which one is a Volvo dealer. This took me a couple of seconds and we have this business listed as Volvo mechanics:

We are working on improving business listings by having a paragraph of descriptive text viewable on the section page. This feature will be coming soon.
Re. Tangier.
Another way to get to ports quickly is to put the port name in the search function. The port link was the first to come up in search.
https://nsocl.wccstaging.com/place/morocco/atlantic-coast-morocco/tangier/
Again, hover over the port name to get the drop-down list of all the info. we have for that port. If you click on the arrow next to repair facilities a further drop-down list will appear with all the repair sections.
As far as we know, there are limited repair facilities for recreational vessels in Tangier and no sail repair. La Linea (Spain) is probably the closest alternative:
https://nsocl.wccstaging.com/business/lazyjacks-canvas/Please be aware that all the same information that was on the old site, is on the new site, you just need to spend a little time familiarising yourself with how to get to it.
The only information that is still being migrated are the general pages, however many of the reports from those pages are on the new site now already as they are linked to country pages as well as general pages.
Please let me know if you continue to have problems finding information, and of course, if you discover a sailmaker in Tangier, or an alternative Volvo mechanic in BCN, please do give us the details so we can add them to Noonsite.
Fair winds,
Sue
Overall a good job. I am not a fan of the “hamburger” style menu and would prefer to see the menu options listed on the side.
Thanks!
Hi Ed, thanks for the feedback. Yes, it does take a little getting used to, but actually, it’s a much more efficient use of space than old the old site, in particular for smaller devices. I don’t know if you ever tried looking at the old Noonsite on your mobile phone or tablet? But it was pretty impossible to get around. We have added a country search box so that finding countries and ports is quicker, and the hamburger menu will expand as we migrate the general pages over and add new features. You’ll also notice that in the hamburger menu we now have Latest News – and also Cruising Reports – a feature we didn’t have on the old site and an easy way to quickly find out the lastest reports from cruisers that have been submitted.
Completely useless now. It used to be a place to stop and read loads of info, now is just bad. Waste of time. Bye.
i absolutely agree
Good job !!
